Merrimack Baby Photographer

Is this not the most perfect family?! Not only are they adorable but the kiddos were so easy to work with and so loving with one another. It is not often as a baby photographer that I have young children able to sit still long enough to perfect each pose! Even Dad needs to be applauded for be willing to throw his back out while I took way too long to get this shot of baby C in his firefighter helmet. I couldn’t be happier with the results!

This sweet little peanut was such a good girl for me. She had the most expressive little face and gave me a ton of smiles. She even let me test out my new newborn papasan chair. I just love her on this mustard yellow color.

I get it… for most Dads newborn portraits are not really that exciting. Most of you don’t really care what colors we use, or which props. And, forget about the accessories, why do we even ask?! Ninety nine percent of clients who contact a newborn photographer are the Mom or Grandmother of the family. The Dads, Grandfathers, brothers, etc. are just along for the ride. So when you hear that a Dad has been waiting the whole session for one shot you find a way to make it work. Even if it takes more than an hour of editing. And even if it involves compositing about 5 different images. Hopefully this is what dad had in mind.

Using special props like this dad’s helmet are one of my favorite things to do. It can be a little tricky at times because safety if the most important thing. I would never sacrifice that in order to get a shot like this. This was done with this little guy on his father’s lap being held by both mom and dad at all times.
