Our First Disney Trip

Well, we did it and it is DONE. There were lots of wonderful moments but all in all, if there is one thing I am sure of it is that I am not a Disney person. Let me preface this by saying that for the last 4-5 months I have been dealing with a back injury. So, there was a lot of discomfort just doing the average amount of walking required when cramming in 4 theme parks and a Halloween party into a 7 day trip. That being said I just couldn’t seem to find the magic beyond the fight; the fight to beat other people to make reservations and fast passes, the fight to get to the parks as early as possible, the fight to get the best position in lines, the fight for spots to watch shows/parade or the fight to get pictures doing any of these things (which lets face it is about 50% of the reason I am there). Don’t get me wrong my kids did have a great time but I am not convinced they would have had any less fun with a week at say Canobie Lake and the YMCA pool, which would have cost 1/10 the time and aggravation and 1/6 the price. I think that everyone should be 100% free to spend their time/money on the things that make them happy and there is no judgement here, if for you that is Disney, but I think for me we will definitely be exploring other vacation options in the future.
