Cake Smash Photographer

First Trip Around the Sun

Fancy Black and White Cake Smash

Pretty whimsical cake smash

It is so hard to believe it has been 6 years since I have seen this family. You may remember big sister A from her “my little sunshine cake smash.” I was so excited when mom contacted me again for A’s baby sister. Mom was looking for something on the simple side with a little bit of fall mixed in. I am so happy with how it turned out.

Dinosaur themed Cake Smash and Hot Cocoa Bath

As a cake smash photographer, I was thrilled when one of my all-time favorite cake smasher’s brother reached is one year milestone. However, this little birthday boy was on the move the moment he stepped foot in the door. He tolerated the fact the fact that we really seemed eager for him to sit in this chair even though my flash was far more interesting. Unfortunately, his patience was entirely worn out by the time we got down to the cake smash. I am told he loves cake but as you can see he had no time for it on this day. Luckily, we stuck gold with this cocoa bath because I think it was the one thing that he found more fun than exploring my studio. He definitely earned his nickname “Messy Wessy.”

One in a Melon – Cocomelon – Watermelon Themed Session

Deer One – Wild One – Woodland Creatures Cake Smash Photographer – Nashua, NH

All my Covid babies are starting to turning one year old and I was so excited when this guy’s mom contacted me to do his birthday session. If felt good to finally have the studio back open. I haven’t quite gotten my studio groove back this guys was not very judgmental. Even when I had to work out some of the kinks he was happy to just explore and be the center of attention. He may have been a laid back baby but his was intent on destruction when it came to cake time. After a sleepy start the sugar started to kick in and before long there we were cleaning cake off the walls. I guess Baby J decided to help with the clean up because he made sure we had all the soap and water we needed. It just happened to come from what was supposed to be his bubble bath. I told Mom and Dad a messy studio is the best way to determine the success of a birthday cake smash session. Believe me, he killed it!

First Year Down – Football

This baby boy came ready to play for his “first down” football themed cake smash. Just look at that game face! He started with some stretching and burpees to warm up. Then after only moments of game play he triumphantly spiked the football (cake) in the end zone before going for the field goal. Okay, so he did choke, miss the field goal, step on the cake and the then cry but what do you want, he is one. After a long game he decided to hit the ice bath to get that blood moving and recuperate. All just a day in the life of the biggest stud in the infant football league. And where do you think he went after the game…Disney world of course! His big brother must have taught him everything he knows.

Mr. ONEderful – Blue Gold and navy Bow ties

I can’t believe this guy is one! Then again, it seems totally plausible since his first year was one of the longest of my life. This guy was my last newborn baby before the pandemic covid-19 crazy-ness. It has not been fun lugging all my gear around for in-home sessions. It definitely has trying to get babies to smile while wearing a mask. And it’s been downright difficult resisting the urge to be a hands-on poser. In the end I believe it has made be a better photographer. Not to mention seeing this guy grow has been a highlight in a year with few highlights. So, this “Mr. ONEdeful” cake smash was a pretty perfect way to end our bump to baby package.

Wild One – Little Dinosaur – Blue, Green and Orange

I love how fun this set turned out. Mom contacted me with her ideas for a simple but color Dinosaur themed cake smash. She envisioned lots of blue, green and orange and I think it was perfect for this little guy. I just love his dinosaur scaled cake in matching colors.

He was a bit more interested in the balloons than his cake at first but as you can see he got the idea pretty quickly. He was a great little smasher and put a good dent in his cakes all the while smiling up a storm for us. I am pretty sure, however, his favorite part was splashing around in the tub while getting cleaned up! In fact he did so much splashing that there was more water outside the tub than inside afterwards. Mom wanted a preview full of cake smash photos. So, unfortunately, you won’t get to see the other one year portraits we did for him. Let me assure you that they are just as cute.
