Newborn Twins – Nashua, NH

Photographing newborn twins is basically like photographing one newborn… except there are two of them. Twice the tiny fingers, twice the tiny toes, twice the adorable—and twice the chance that someone will decide they are absolutely NOT interested in sleeping for photos. As a Nashua newborn photographer, I have learned that newborn sessions require patience, flexibility, and a willingness to accept that the babies are actually in charge. We take breaks for feeding, soothing, snuggling, and whatever else needs to happen to keep everyone happy.

The best part of newborn photography, though, is making the session personal to your family. These sweet twins were photographed with their French Bulldog “brother,” who clearly stole the whole show. We also included Dad’s firefighter uniform, because what better way to celebrate the guy who is already a real-life hero? Of course, we had to get photos of the whole family, along with some sweet images of Mom and Dad with their brand-new babies. Because while the newborn stage can be exhausting, chaotic, and fueled by approximately 47 cups of coffee, it is also incredibly special—and it goes by ridiculously fast. My job as a Nashua newborn photographer is to freeze a little bit of this beautiful chaos in time before everyone grows up and the dog becomes the only one willing to cooperate for photos.

Identical Twin Boys

I look forward to all of my newborn sessions but twins are exceedingly special to me. A product of being a twin mom. When this family told me they were having identical twin boys I was elated.

At first glance, some people might have reservations about saying that this session went well… To begin with, it started off with an enormous, seemingly never-ending poop from twin A. As you can imagine, it was big enough to completely wake him up. Then, this was followed by some pee from twin B, and shortly after, more pee from twin A again.

Next, we had bottles, hiccups, an awake twin B, and, of course, even more pee. Meanwhile, in between all of that, there were multiple bouts of the baby brother equivalent of “mom, he’s touching me.”

As a result, all of this led to a very long 5.5-hour session—my longest ever. Because of that, some people might say it didn’t go well. However, as a newborn photographer, this is the only thing I judge a session on…

I’d say it went pretty amazing!

Frequently Asked Questions About Nashua Newborn Photography

When should I book my newborn photography session?
I recommend booking your Nashua newborn photography session during pregnancy, ideally around your second or early third trimester. If you’re expecting twins, booking early is especially helpful since twin pregnancies often arrive earlier than expected. That said, if your babies have already arrived, reach out anyway! I’ll do my best to find a date that works.

Can you photograph newborn twins and siblings together?
Absolutely! Newborn sessions are a great time to capture your whole new family, whether that includes twins, older siblings, or even the family dog. We’ll take our time and keep things relaxed because getting multiple people (and pets) to cooperate for a photo is basically a minor miracle.

Can we include our dog in our newborn session?
Yes! If your dog is part of the family, I think they should be part of the story. We can include your pup in a few photos with the babies and family. Don’t worry if your dog isn’t perfectly trained or camera-ready. Honestly, neither are newborns.

Do you provide props and outfits for newborn sessions?
Yes! I provide a selection of simple, timeless props, wraps, and accessories for your newborn session. My goal is to keep the focus on your baby and your family, while still creating beautiful images that feel natural and personal to you. I always encourage you to bring any props you would like to add to the session to make it more meaningful.

What should we bring to our newborn photography session?
Not much! I provide the wraps, props, and accessories needed for your baby’s photos. You’ll want to bring plenty of diapers, extra bottles if you’re bottle-feeding, a pacifier if your baby uses one, and anything special you’d like included in the session. And snacks. Always bring snacks. For yourself, not just the baby.

What happens if one of my twins won’t cooperate?
That’s completely normal—and honestly, expected. Newborns don’t care about our photography schedule. If one baby needs to eat, be changed, rocked, or held, we take a break. We don’t rush the session. My approach as a Nashua newborn photographer is to work with your babies and let the session unfold at their pace. We’ll get plenty of beautiful images, even if it takes a little patience (and maybe a snack break or two).
